Common questions

How do I cancel my Plus or Coach Pro subscription?+
Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel:
  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
  3. Tap Hitting Partner
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription
You'll keep access until the end of the current period. You can also cancel from inside the app: Profile → Plans & subscription → Manage subscription.
I cancelled but I'm still being charged. What do I do?+
Apple charges happen at the start of each renewal period. If you cancelled and were charged for the next period, request a refund directly from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple processes refunds — we don't see your card and can't refund directly.
How do I delete my account?+
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. Your profile, messages, posts, and ratings are removed immediately. Subscriptions billed by Apple need to be cancelled separately (see above) — deleting your account doesn't stop the renewal.
Why am I not seeing any players nearby?+
Hitting Partner shows real players in your area. If your suburb just launched in Early Access, density may take a few weeks to build. Tap Profile → Edit profile and check your home base is set correctly. You can also tap Invite friends from your Profile to bring your existing tennis crew over — the more local players, the better your matches.
Someone is harassing me. How do I report them?+
Tap the user's profile → ··· menu → Block to remove them from your matches and prevent further messages. Tap the same menu → Report to file a moderation report — our team reviews reports within 24 hours. For urgent safety concerns (threats of harm, illegal activity), email hello@hittingpartner.app with details and we'll respond the same day.
I'm a coach — how does the commission work?+
There is no commission. Hitting Partner is subscription-only (Coach Pro is A$24.99/month all-in in Australia). Lessons are booked directly between coach and student — payment is arranged between you, never through us. We never touch the money.
How do trust tiers (Rising, Recommended, Top Rated, Elite) work for coaches?+
Trust tiers are calculated from real student reviews — number of reviews and average star rating. The thresholds are:
  • Rising — under 20 reviews
  • Recommended — 20+ reviews, 4.5+ stars
  • Top Rated — 50+ reviews, 4.7+ stars
  • Elite — 100+ reviews, 4.85+ stars
Tiers are earned, never sold. We don't accept payments to bump a coach up a tier.
How do I get the Blue Tick on my profile?+
Open Profile → Blue tick verification in the app to see your checklist. You need: verified email, profile photo (real face), at least 3 hits logged, no recent safety reports, and a reliability score of 90% or higher. The tick is awarded automatically once all checks pass — there is no manual application and no way to pay for it.
Can I use Hitting Partner if I'm under 18?+
No. Hitting Partner is 18+ only because the service connects strangers for in-person meetups. You'll be asked to confirm your age during sign-up. If you're under 18 and want to find tennis or pickleball partners, ask a parent or coach to help connect you with a local junior program.
I'm having a technical problem (app crashing, can't sign in, etc.)+
Email hello@hittingpartner.app with:
  • Your account email
  • Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About)
  • What you were doing when the issue happened
  • A screenshot if you can
We aim to respond within one business day.

Manage your subscription

Plus and Coach Pro subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. To view, change, or cancel:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
  3. Tap Hitting Partner
  4. Change plan, cancel, or check the next renewal date

For refund requests, use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple handles all billing and refunds for App Store subscriptions.

Report a safety concern

If you're being harassed, threatened, or feel unsafe, use the in-app Block and Report tools first — you'll find them on every player profile via the ··· menu. Our moderation team reviews every report. For urgent matters, email hello@hittingpartner.app and write "Urgent safety report" in the subject line. If you're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Delete your account

In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and removes your profile, messages, posts, ratings, and any reports you've made. Active subscriptions billed by Apple must be cancelled separately in iPhone Settings (above) — deleting your Hitting Partner account does not cancel the Apple subscription.
