Perth's geographic isolation means a tightly-knit tennis community — most adult players know each other within two degrees of separation.
Perth tennis clusters around three main areas: Western Suburbs (Cottesloe, Claremont, Mosman Park) with the highest-end clubs; Northern Suburbs (Joondalup, Hillarys, Sorrento) which is the largest adult social tennis catchment; and South of the River (Como, Applecross, Booragoon) which has the densest concentration of council courts. Perth's hot summers push most evening tennis to start later (7pm) than in cooler capitals. Royal Kings Park is the city's heritage club and runs strong adult programs.
Perth runs social tennis Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings (the most popular slot), and a growing Sunday evening slot. The Northern Suburbs corridor — Joondalup, Hillarys, Edgewater — has the largest adult social tennis density. Western Suburbs clubs lean more competitive than purely social. Entry fees A$10–18. Perth's smaller population means individual sessions often have closer-knit groups — easier to become a regular, harder to drop in anonymously.

Perth private coaching rates A$65–95/hr. Group clinics A$25–45 per person per 90-minute session. Coaching quality is excellent — Western Australia produces strong junior players and a good adult coaching pool. Royal Kings Park has the most senior certified coaches; Northern Suburbs coaches are typically more affordable. Limited competition keeps prices slightly lower than Sydney/Melbourne despite high quality.

Perth's tight tennis community makes hitting partners easy to find once you're plugged in but harder to discover cold. Most regulars found their partner through their club or by attending social tennis 3–4 times. Perth-specific Facebook groups are smaller than east-coast equivalents but the signal-to-noise is high. Hitting Partner covers all Perth metro suburbs.

Perth cardio tennis is growing fast — most major Northern Suburbs and Western Suburbs clubs added a weekly session in the last few years. Standard price A$18–25 per session. Cottesloe, Hillarys, and Royal Kings Park run the longest-established programs. Adult tennis clinics run weekly at most clubs at A$30–50 per person. Summer cardio tennis typically shifts to early-morning (6:30am) slots to dodge afternoon heat.
