Vancouver's mild Pacific climate gives it the longest outdoor tennis season in Canada — playable November through March in most years, when Toronto and Montreal are fully indoor.
Vancouver tennis runs through the heritage Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club (one of the oldest racquet clubs in North America), Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver, and a strong public network at Stanley Park (17 courts), Jericho Beach Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, and Kitsilano Beach. The UBC Tennis Centre runs public programs and high-level adult sessions. North Shore players cluster around Hollyburn and Capilano Tennis Club. Vancouver's climate allows outdoor tennis 10–11 months a year with rain-delay disruption rather than seasonal closure — a meaningful differentiator from the rest of Canada.
Adult social tennis runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings at most established clubs, with strong Saturday morning slots at Stanley Park and Jericho. Vancouver Lawn and Hollyburn run weekly adult ladders. UBC Tennis Centre runs the most accessible public-program social tennis. Entry fees CAD $12–20 per session. Public court hire is free at city facilities (Stanley Park, Jericho, Queen Elizabeth Park) outside of weekend permit hours.

Vancouver private coaching rates run CAD $70–120/hr. UBC Tennis Centre, Vancouver Lawn, and Hollyburn coaches sit at the top of that range; public-court and community-centre coaches typically CAD $65–95/hr. Group clinics CAD $25–50 per person per 90-minute session. Vancouver's coaching pool is high-quality but smaller than Toronto's — Tennis Canada Professional Coach certification is the standard credential.

Vancouver's compact tennis community makes hitting partners easy to find once you're integrated but tougher to discover cold. Stanley Park and Jericho weekend mornings are the best public-court discovery spots. The 'Vancouver Tennis Players' Facebook group is active. Hitting Partner covers all Vancouver metro neighbourhoods. UBC's regular pickup sessions are a reliable entry point for university-affiliated players.

Cardio tennis is concentrated at Vancouver Lawn, Hollyburn, UBC Tennis Centre, and the North Shore Winter Club. Standard price CAD $25–45 per session. Adult tennis clinics with a doubles or stroke focus run weekly at most established clubs at CAD $35–55 per person. Vancouver's mild winter allows year-round outdoor cardio at most facilities — a genuine advantage over central and eastern Canada.
